Frigates are the smallest of the "full size" spacefleet vessels (hull size 5). Carrying 25 to 30 crew members, frigates can make high speed patrols, and up to three jumps before needing an overhaul. They are commonly used as patrol ships by the UPF, as they are large enough to handle most pirate ships and other criminal vessels. Frigates are the mainstay of the UPF fleet.
